Kevin and Betsy Carswell Receive the Good Neighbor Award

The Carswells embody the best of good neighbors. They recognize unaddressed challenges facing Hudson Valley nonprofits and step up to fill the gaps. Whether its rallying IBMers or classmates at school, they find ways to engage others in the community in joining them in projects. In that way, the hours they spend volunteering get multiplied many times over.

Please join us in the comment section below in thanking them, congratulating them on their award, and sharing your stories about them.

  1. Quiet deeds are often the most powerful. Thank you for all that you do and for inspiring other families to do the same. When we care about each other as a community, we are all strengthened in the process.

Congratulations! I have wanted to give you this award each time I walked into an office that you painted, saw a room that you cleaned and organized, or walked through a door whose peeling paint had been removed and restored by you and your helpers. These things mean a lot to our clients and to our employees; your efforts help them feel important. That's what good neighbors do: help others and let them know that they are an important part of the community.Every time you volunteered here, your good work told others: you matter and I care. Thank you so much!
